Allowable Stress Design Based on AISC

بِسْـــــــــــمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيْـــــــمِ

The structural design of building, whether of structural steel or reinforcement concrete. requires the determination of the overall proportions and dimensions of the supporting framework and the selection of the cross sections of individual members. Since we know about calculation shear, Tension, Bearing, etc. Based on AISC standard that allowable stress could be describe as per the follow :

1. Tension  Ft = 0.6 x F yield
2. Compression Fa = 0.6 x F yield
3. Shear Fv = 0.4 x F yield
4. Bending Fb = 0.66 x F yield
5. Combined Fc = 0.66 x F yield
6. Bearing Fp = 0.9 x F yield

the explanation will be described soon
